There is nothing like the rain to put me in a bummer mood. For a week now we have been fighting to stay dry. Side note: I have not seen one umbrella in use the entire time it has been raining. But seriously, rain for this length of time is just very annoying. Most of the time, I try to keep the lazy activities to a minimum, but the rain is so uninviting so I think there are some rainy day activities that you just might not want to pass up.

  • Catch up on your reading.

There is no better time to pick up a good book and cozy up in your favorite blanket than right now.

  • Have a movie marathon.

Whether you are a Harry Potter or Fast and Furious fan, a day like today is perfect for watching those beloved movies or binge on a TV classic.

  • Write.

I always say writing is therapeutic so why not jot your thoughts down? I write to clear my head and while my blog is pretty lighthearted, getting those thoughts into an organized format gives me free thinking space.

  • Organize your room.

I know this doesn’t sound like the most fun, but when the rain stops, you will feel so refreshed! Start with just a few things – if you need to- and work your way up to purging, straightening, and all out organizing.

  • Do a puzzle.

Nowadays, puzzles are so cheap and could be a super cute rainy day date idea! Plus, you get to exercise your mind which is very important!

  • Bake.

There is nothing more calming than making a delicious cake or cookies from scratch. I even try to share with a friend or neighbor.

  • Organize your planner.

With the weather, this is the perfect downtime to get your life in order! My planner is constantly with me so I don’t forget anything going on in my life.

  • Stretch out.

Your body is a temple and often we do not stretch enough. I have never gotten into yoga so I just call it stretching, but if yoga is your thing, a day like today is the perfect day to perfect your poses.

  • Create something.

Crafting is something I wish I did much more of, but never make the time. I love seeing the end product and being able to share my creativity with the people I love!

  • Try a new coffee house.

If you want to get out of the house, a coffee spot is the perfect place to begin or end your day out and about.

  • Throw yourself a spa day.

Draw a bath, paint your nails, mask your face, etc. Take a day to pamper yourself!
