I know everybody has been on the edge of their seats waiting to find out what my big announcement is so let me put your mind at ease!! The wait is over! To be serious though, this has been such a God thing in my life and I am so excited to share that I am going to be going out of State this fall for the next few years of my education!! I have been pretty indecisive about this whole experience for the past year or so. Last fall, I looked at some schools out of Alaska and I fell in love with the campuses, but I felt an urge to stay in Alaska. About a month ago, I started to feel an itch for a change in my life. I had just finished obtaining my Associates Degree and felt like I needed a new adventure. I hopped around a few options until I arrived at the decision to attend a Christian university in Arizona this fall. So now I am down to three weeks here in Alaska.

God kept opening the doors for me in this direction and I truly believe that this is going to take me on a spiritual journey – not only giving me the opportunity to better my relationship with God, but also to prepare myself for marriage. If you didn’t see on my social media, yes MARRIAGE!! My best friend and love of my life asked me to marry him this past weekend and we could not be more excited and in love. The biggest question I have gotten since the proposal is this: what does this mean for Arizona? This changes nothing for me. Justin and I both feel that my education is a priority and an essential piece in our life’s puzzle.

The whole long distance thing is less than desirable, but totally doable if it means I get to grow closer to Christ, work on my educational goals, and grow as a unit with Justin. He is also doing some pretty big things in his life right now and as hard as it is to say goodbye for now, I have to keep in mind that we are bettering ourselves for each other! So there it is! My crazy announcement turned into two, but life has a crazy way of doing that to us. What a wonderful life it is.

  1. All things through Christ! You are already in good hands! Distance is nothing. You can do it! Plus with Facebook, its like you’re still here. Congratulations again on engagement!
