With summer right around the corner, there is nothing better than planning a full three months of activities before heading into another semester of stress and endless due dates. We all know how much I love planning, so would you expect anything less than me having all of my spontaneous fun all planned out? With Justin out of town for part of the summer, I am going to get to spend a TON of time with Atlas- that means lots of hiking, swimming, biking, and of course, napping.

Every year I put together a summer bucket list and on it I have all the things I hope I can pact into three months in the land of the Midnight Sun- and every year I don’t complete it. This year, I’m hoping you all can keep me accountable and I will do my best to write about all the fun things I’m doing in Alaska this summer!

  • Hike / camp at Lost Lake
  • Hike Crow Pass
  • Hike Winner Creek Trail
  • Drive the Alcan Highway
  • Go fishing in Valdez
  • Go swimming in 5 new places
  • Go camping in Homer
  • Hike Lazy Mountain
  • Four-wheel to Knik Glacier
  • Salmon Fest
  • Hike 25 different hikes
  • Go deep sea fishing
  • Take 5 road trips

For my 2018 goals, I wanted to be a tourist in my home state and I think this list is a good representation of the things I want to accomplish. It is so easy to get caught up in all the craziness and this summer I am going to focus on giving 100% on what is right in front of me. I am going to be present and enjoy each new adventure God gives me each day. I am taking 12 credits this summer to reach my educational goal on time. Will it be difficult? Yes, but I am ready to conquer the summer semester, the tallest mountains, and every adventure with everything I’ve got!  Ready. Set. Go!
